    Council has taken a decisive step towards transforming the city’s health, wellness, and sporting future, voting to progress the statutory requirements for the Prospect Lifestyle Precinct Masterplan.

    At last night’s December Council Meeting, Council endorsed two critical pathways: submitting a proposal to the Minister for Local Government to revoke the community land classification for specific underutilised parcels, and endorsing the draft Code Amendment for community consultation.

    Mayor of City of Prospect Matt Larwood described the decision as a pivotal moment for addressing the urgent infrastructure upgrades required for Prospect Oval.

  • Phase 3 consultation opens for Prospect Lifestyle Precinct's next steps

    Council is inviting the community to provide feedback on a pivotal next step for the Prospect Lifestyle Precinct.

    With Phase 3 consultation now open, residents and the broader community can have their say on two key statutory processes that will help secure the precinct's future: the proposed revocation of some sections of community land and a new, site-specific Community Land Management Plan.

  • Phase 2 consultation opens for Prospect Lifestyle Precinct master planning options

    Council is pleased to announce the launch of Phase 2 consultation for the Prospect Lifestyle Precinct Masterplan.

    Following community consultation, technical investigations, feasibility studies, and advisory group input, four master planning options have been developed to guide the transformation of Prospect Oval and its surrounds.

  • Council refines vision for Prospect Lifestyle Precinct Masterplan

    Council was excited to share its next steps in the evolution of the Prospect Lifestyle Precinct master planning process at its workshop last night.

    Building upon initial feedback on the preliminary master planning scenarios presented to Council in mid-November, City of Prospect Mayor Larwood announced that three refined scenarios were presented at last night’s Council Workshop for additional consideration.

  • Council gathers momentum on Prospect Oval Precinct vision

    The exciting Prospect Oval Precinct project is gathering momentum, with Council attending a workshop on Tuesday 13 February to delve into the project's roadmap.

    Presented by Holmes Dyer Consultancy, the workshop provided Council with an overview of the next steps needed to commence planning for the entire Prospect Oval Precinct.

    The first step in the site’s journey is to develop a ‘roadmap’, providing a transparent path for Council and the community to follow, mapping potential milestones, resources, risks, and a timeline of completion.

  • Main North Road strategic land purchase now leased

    The Prospect Oval Precinct is a once-in-a-generation opportunity that allows us to create a vibrant, connected, multi-use sporting, recreation and open-space precinct.

    Having identified the potential of this valuable site, City of Prospect settled the purchase of 142-148 Main North Road on 8 November 2023 and wasted no time in securing a tenant for the property on a short to medium-term lease (3+2 years).

  • City of Prospect unveils transformative investment for community

    12 July 2023

    Exciting developments are underway in City of Prospect as the Council announces a significant initiative that will shape our community's future.

    After careful evaluation, the Council has entered a contract to acquire a 5,522m2 premises adjoining Prospect Oval at 142-148 Main North Road, for $8.3 million.

    By acquiring this land, Council aims to continue shaping Prospect Oval as a high-value community asset, improving public amenities and community spaces, and supporting Main North Road's economic development to create better connections between Main North Road and Prospect Oval.
