Council has taken a major step toward progressing the vision for the Prospect Lifestyle Precinct, officially endorsing the draft Code Amendment at a Special Council Meeting last night.
This statutory milestone, which represents the legal mechanism required to update local zoning rules to unlock the vision of the Council-endorsed Prospect Lifestyle Precinct Masterplan, will now be submitted to the State Government’s Minister for Planning for final approval, inclusive of several new mitigations for community benefit.
Mayor Matt Larwood said the decision was driven by a commitment to securing the future of one of the city’s most loved assets in a fiscally responsible way.

City of Prospect acknowledges that we are on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people, and we respect their spiritual connection to their country.
We also acknowledge the Kaurna people as the custodians of the greater Adelaide region and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living Kaurna people today.
