The new Greater Adelaide Regional Plan, which will determine what Greater Adelaide might look like in 30 years, is open for consultation. Have your say and share your thoughts to help shape its future.
The State Planning Commission (Plan SA) with the support of the Department of Trade and Investment (DIT), Planning and Land Use Services (PLUS) is preparing a new Greater Adelaide Regional Plan (GARP).
Experts believe that in the next 30 years, there could be up to 670,000 more people living in Greater Adelaide.
The GARP will decide how the Greater Adelaide area will look and work for the next 30 years. It will say where houses and jobs will be, and how people will live.
As part of the process for the preparation of the GARP, Plan SA and PLUS have prepared the Greater Adelaide Regional Plan Discussion Paper to support Stage 1 engagement for the Greater Adelaide Regional Plan.
This Discussion Paper has been prepared to start the conversation about how our state will change over the next 30 years and where we could accommodate future housing and employment growth.
This is a chance for you to share your ideas early in the GARP’s creation. You can help decide what the communities of today and tomorrow will currently and likely need and want. You can also say where and how we should grow.
Feedback on the Discussion Paper is open for a period of 12 weeks from, 14 August 2023 to 6 November 2023 (5pm).
Please note this is a State Government consultation.
Even though Plan SA, DIT and PLUS are leading this project, it's important for City of Prospect residents and businesses too. We want to make sure you know about it and can share your thoughts.
To find out more, read the discussion paper and learn how to have your say, visit the Greater Adelaide Regional Plan website.
The full GARP Discussion Paper, a summary of the GARP Discussion Paper, a GARP Discussion Paper fact sheet and frequently asked questions can also be found in the Document Library to the right of this page.
A series of community information sessions (online and in-person) will be held for community to meet members from the Regional Planning Program and ask questions. Registration is essential. To register, click here.
