City of Prospect is undertaking community consultation to gather community feedback on when we hold our January citizenship ceremonies.
In 2019, the Federal Government mandated that citizenship ceremonies be held on 26 January (Australia Day). However, this decision was reversed earlier this year, allowing councils to choose a date between 23-29 January. The consultation aims to gather community feedback on when City of Prospect holds its January citizenship ceremonies.
You can participate by answering our quick poll until 10 November 2023.
Community feedback is valuable to us and will influence our future decisions regarding January citizenship ceremonies. The poll results will be carefully considered in our decision-making process.
A community feedback report will be presented to Council at the 28 November Council Meeting. After this, a consultation summary, including outcomes and Council decisions, will be made available in the Document Library in the right-hand menu of this webpage.
