The focus for the architectural team has shifted to the Town Hall bar, with work progressing at pace to ensure the new bar is ready when the Town Hall reopens for its first events. There have also been a number of different options developed for the exterior ‘Payinthi’ signage, and work will continue to ensure this important design element makes an appropriately bold statement.
The design of the café tenancy opening is almost complete, with a new opening reminiscent of the original appearance of the Institute library (although in contemporary material and detailing) developed by the project team.
Onsite, works on the interior of the building continue, with the first of the terrazzo tiles laid in the ground floor of the building, and a new timber floor installed in the Irish Harp Room (along with cabinets and tiling). The external façade screen on the southern side of the building has been completed, and the scaffolding removed to reveal the whole of the new facility for the first time.
This decision will be made by the SA Department of Education and Child Development (DECD) in collaboration with Nailsworth Primary School.
